VENTURING IN FUEL CELLS
The Power in 'Small'
Fuel cells are coming to our homes and offices - long before
they will be found in our automobiles. Micro fuel cells, as
small as add-on battery packs, will soon power consumer products
from telephones to laptops. By 2005, these small and portable
power sources will ship in volume. Casio Computer, Motorola,
NEC, Sony, Samsung and Toshiba are just a few of the companies
expecting to ride this briskly improving technology to future
revenue. Portable fuel cells, a little bit bigger, are already
coming to market.
Please join the Caltech/MIT Enterprise Forum for a critical
look at the micropower and portable fuel cell industry. Our
panel of investors, entrepreneurs, technologists and market
analysts will examine venture opportunities for micro or portable
power for our homes, offices and recreation. Maurice Gunderson,
a venture capital investor in six fuel cell companies, will
keynote the program with his view of the market and commercialization
strategies for fuel cell ventures. Two early stage companies
will present their business plan for critical panel review.
